A concert in the memory of Kirill Tikhonov
On the 4th December 2007 a concert in the memory of the first principal conductor of Helikon-Opera People's Artist of Russia Kirill Tikhonov was held in Helikon-Opera. Artists of the theatre performed Requiem by W. A. Mozart. The program was prepared by Honoured Artist of Russia Denis Kirpanev.

On the 20th of August the artistic director of the theatre Dmitry Bertman opened the 18th theatrical season in Helikon in Arbat. Dmitry Bertman addressed many warm words to the collective, totalled the past events and told about the future plans of the theatre. Every artist received the diploma with the list of all parts played during the year.

This prestige contest, established by "Planeta krasota" magazine and UNESCO Creative Center, has been held for the 7th time. This year a soloist of "Helikon-Opera" Karina Grigorian won in "Singer of the Year" nomination.

A good tradition in our theatre is to organize recitals of leading soloists of “Helikon-Opera”. The Honoured Artist of Russia Alisa Gitsba (soprano) continued it on the 8th of June. Alisa presented to the judgment of the spectators not even the concert with classical set of arias and romances, but the entire performance in two acts.

Honoured Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny is touring a lot this season
On the 22nd and 25th of March he sang Herman in "The Queen of Spades" by P. I. Tchaikovsky in Rostov-on-Don (production of K. Balakin). Since December 2006 till February 2007 with invitation of Canadian Opera Company he has been participating in production of "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk" by D. D. Shostakovich, where he performed as Zinoviy Borisovich. The performance was conducted by Richard Bradshaw, general director and principal conductor of Canadian Opera Company.

New Year's party for children
During New Year and Christmas holidays New Year parties for children were traditionally held in "Helikon-Opera". Festive performance was shown three times a day with a full house. On the 2nd January 60 orphans from children's home were invited to the party besides usual spectators.
